Bike Description:
The Thunderbird Sport is a revised update of the basic Thunderbird, with similar retro styling, although the design is from a 1970s dirt-track styled racer. Dominated by stylish upswept twin silencers on the right hand side, it has a fine blend of styling and performance. The engine is little changed from the basic Thunderbird, and still produces a torquey 5 lkW (69bhp), driving through a six-speed gearbox. The suspension is fully adjustable at both ends, and the spoked wheels have wider 43cm (17in) rims which can be fitted with modern sports tyres. The brakes let the Sport down though - the two twin piston calipers up front lack outright power. The Sport has a pillion seat, but is at its happiest when ridden solo.
